PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Art Gallery (TAG) at the University of West Florida (UWF), presents “Eleven,” an exhibition of work by graduating Bachelor of Fine Art students Charles Greenberg and Richard Rodriguez. Their work incorporates a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography and animation. An important and common theme of these artist’s processes is exploring the technical aspects of each medium.

Using the physicality of film and the constraints of the medium as a basis for exploration, Richard Rodriguez presents photographs that represent his views of the world. His work is about the nature of the object and is expressed formally through various photographic techniques. The images are composed of the ordinary with an emphasis on the limitations of the frame.

Working with color, form and composition, Charles Greenberg’s work explores the link between observation and emotion. His process employs a flowing, primal attitude towards making. Greenberg’s works begin with formal associations that open unique poetic veins allowing him to come to terms with the apparent world and his internalization of it. For a moment, the intangible nature of feelings and thoughts can be experienced externally and become personified by the material.
